There has been only one King of the Blues – Riley B. King, affectionately known as B.B. King.  See the blues legend live in concert at the Bryce Jordan Center on Sunday, October 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Since B.B. started recording in the late 1940′s, he has released over 60 albums many of them considered blues classics, like 1965′s definitive live blues album Live At The Regal, and 1976′s collaboration with Bobby “Blue” Bland, Together For The First Time.

Over the years, B.B. has developed one of the world’s most readily identified guitar styles. He borrowed from Lonnie Johnson, Blind Lemon Jefferson, T-Bone Walker, and others, integrating his precise vocal like string bends and his left hand vibrato, both of which have become indispensable components of rock guitarist’s vocabulary.

B.B.’s hits include “The Thrill Is Gone,” “Three O’Clock Blues,” “You Don’t Know Me,” “Please Love Me,” “You Upset Me Baby,” “Sweet Sixteen, Part I,” and “Don’t Answer The Door, Part I.”

Tickets are $35, $45 for reserved theatre seating and go on-sale Friday, July 12 at Noon at the Bryce Jordan Center, Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State Downtown Theatre, Altoona Campus Ticket Outlet, online atwww.ticketmaster.com or www.bjc.psu.edu, or by phone at (800) 745-3000.

VIP floor seating is also available.  Penn State University Park students will receive a $15 discount courtesy of UPAC.
